This is my new pet project (no pun intended).

I am making the turtle quilt for Caleb
(because he's seriously lacking in quilts...)
I thought about the dinosaur...but it doesn't look like it will cover much. I might make it for a rug for his room.
The caterpillar is stinkin' cute, too.
I was perusing the fabric section of Hobby Lobby today and fell madly in love with a bunch of fabrics. It's inspired me to start sewing again.
And I'm seriously thinking about making an etsy store because we could really use the extra income...
The question is - how am I going to afford the fabric to make the stuff in the first place? And will anyone buy what I make?
Would you pay for an animal shaped rag quilt? Inquiring minds want to know.
Perhaps we'll see how the turtle turns out first...
Keep posted.

Those are really cute! As someone who has benefited from your awesome sewing skills in the past, I would definitely buy one. A friend of mine is due in June, so if you do decide to make and sell more quilts I'll probably want to get one for her little boy when he's born.
Yeah, you need more quilts like a hole in the head. If you do make those rag quilts, make sure you invest in the proper scissors. Cutting the fringe is THE WORST PART of those things. Fiskars makes a good pair - they look like gardening shears. Much easier on the hands. You can use a coupon or wait until Joann has a sale on cutting implements.
And the problem with starting a business is having the capital! Try buying fabrics on clearance at first to save money.
