So this morning, like the past couple morning this week, I woke up to rain falling. I used to love the rain. Till I had three dogs who refuse to go outside to do their business when it's raining. So you can guess what our house looks and smells like right now. I am planning on buying stock in Febreeze.
So, they refuse to go outside to pee - which means they also refuse to go outside to run around and play. Which leaves our living/dining room/kitchen to take the brunt of it. The dining room is usually pretty safe - except for one of my roman shades in my bay window they like to shove out of the way to bark at dogs and people across the street. The kitchen - if anything is left on the counter or stove, or a pantry door left open - we're screwed. I've even found a couple KNIVES on their dog bed. But no blood to be found. They're idiots, but they're smart idiots. Which leaves the living room. My poor, poor living room. It has been destroyed. Someone decided to chew an ink pen on our BRAND NEW couches - and I haven't been able to get all the stains to come out. Bella, I've found, likes to PEE on the couches. She prefers to be comfortable, I guess.
But today, after church I went upstairs to lay down because I was feeling horribly sick (had to leave church early), and Dave left to go see one of his church kids speak at some speaking competition...and the dogs were left to their own devices. Which means...never leave your purse within their reach.
Dave bought me this way cute purse for Valentine's Day. I love that purse. Or, what used to be that purse. They chewed it. They chewed what was in it. Luckily my wallet came out intact. But what I was really peeved about - I had my prescription medicine in there that I'm supposed to be taking daily, along with some vitamins and such (so I don't forget to take them). And low and behold - pills are EVERYWHERE. Including the peed-on dog bed. Luckily two of the bottles were just vitamins and I wasn't worried. They just like to chew on the bottles. After I did a quick count, I realized all my important meds were there and accounted for - they were just nicely displayed on a pee-soaked dog bed. But they're gel pills so I could just wipe them off and use them - if they passed the smell test.
Dave has been really great and has been cleaning up after their horrendous messes since I've been so ill and energy-less since my surgery a few weeks ago. Hopefully I'll start feeling myself soon - and hopefully we'll find homes for 2 if not 3 of our dogs. Because I can't take many more days like this.
